Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie S. Tolan

5.0

Every person has that one item that transports them back to their golden days of their childhood whenever it gets picked up. Whether it be a teddy bear or a toy car, a security blanket, everyone has that one item. This book is my item. I don't know what it is about it that intrigued me so much as a child that would cause me to read and re-read it over and over again. But I just did. The plot was wonderful and witty and ED and Jake were my two favorite people ever created. I guess its because I could relate to the character of ED, a girl bent on education while her whole family is so creatively inclined. Not to be mean or brag, but I'm the only one in my family that avidly reads and maintains a good GPA. But yet, I envy them and their lively personalities. I could relate to ED and I had a crush on Jake, I guess that's what got me reading this book more times than I could possibly count! If you haven't read, you must try it! Its such a wonderful and brillian piece of work.
