Overall this was a cute, quick jaunt into the land of magic through the non-magical Coco. Coco was naive to begin, just believing that Magic was something she would never have and it was pretty and light. Then someone used her, used her as a vehicle for unnatural Magic. Her motivation to save her mom is a commendable theme that follows Coco through the entire book. Even when her peers don't like her, she has a higher goal. Easy to love and an easy to root for underdog.

Also the art is gorgeous!!
