The Roots of the Olive Tree
by Courtney Miller Santo
Anna Keller is 112 and she really wants to be the oldest person in the world. A geneticist wants to track the longevity of her family,so he comes to investigate. Layers upon layers of family history begin to unravel as each woman faces their fears and resentments. Santo's handles the mother-daughter relationships deftly, but I did not find anything new or unique about her writing. Gail Godwin's "A Mother and Two Daughters" was better.
