This was a fun family read-aloud. This is the first book of The Wilderking Trilogy by Jonathan Rogers. In the early part of the book, the biblical allusion to the story of David is pretty obvious. It doesn't take away from the story for it soon takes on a life of its own. We are introduced to the Feechiefolks and learn more of their story as the book unfolds. It includes a lot of action and twists and turns. I recommend it.
