ugh a disappointing rating to give to a wlw book but even though there were things i liked in it, i cannot say i enjoyed the book as a whole. it took me a long time to get through because there was lowkey just not a lot going on. i feel conflicted because this book really avoided the miscommunication trope. like even with the fake dating the characters were very honest with each orher and it was refreshing to read that. but i think the same thing did unfortunately make the story a little bit boring. because sydney and reese’s relationship felt so stable, i was more interested in the side plots and family drama. there was some fun payoff with that but i think as a whole the book underdelivefed. also i understand that the author wanted to show how much the characters understood each other. however i feel like some of the dialogue was a little tight and therapy speak like.
