Magician
by Raymond E. Feist
Im rather torn regarding Magician, on one hand it was a fun, entertaining lord of the rings inspired romp, on the other, at times, it seemed to show its age more than I would have liked.
I think if I had read this before the modern fantasy books I have read, I would have enjoyed this more.
Pug was very interesting.
Tomas grew boring for me, although at one point had the most potential.
Arutha also had potential, but just when I started to enjoy his story it would swap perspectives and leave me short of the satisfaction I had been craving.
The plot was interesting yet somewhat lacking in real motivations for the Tsurani.
The story itself had constant small time jumps that always felt jarring to me, which was odd as I have read many books that have had time jumps but for some reason in this book they felt unnecessary or done poorly.
The world was familiar medieval fantasy mixed with some oddities, which is fine.
I enjoyed the book and was entertained the whole time yet I dont feel an urge to read more, I will however continue with this series hoping to mine the gold that I have been promised is in this series.
