Immortality: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz

3.0

I was really looking forward to reading Immortality after loving the first book of the duology. Unfortunately, the drastic change in tone and atmosphere between the first and second book didn’t work for me at all.

Hazel’s story in this sequel was pretty bland compared to the side plots. To the point that I can say without a doubt that the story of Anatomy would have worked better as a standalone. It would have allowed for more work on developing all the fantastic elements we had in book 1 instead of derailing into side stories that added absolutely nothing to the overall plot. Add a big pacing issue, and I was bored for most of this book.

Overall, Immortality was quite underwhelming and unnecessary despite a satisfying ending.
