It Only Happens in the Movies by Holly Bourne

5.0

I loved this book so much! Holly Bourne is an absolute legend. The characters felt like real people, and their emotions and reactions did too. It had a very good representation of sex in the book, it talks about fears and worries surrounding sex that a lot of girls have. It has an AMAZING portrayal of female friendship, with girls being supportive of each other which we don't see enough in fiction in my opinion. I absolutely loved the way it ended-
Spoiler Alert: Audrey and Harry don't end up together, but it's best for them- it's realistic and it's exactly what they needed. The only thing I didn't like was the character of Leroy- I don't know why he just irked me I guess? And I thought the ending was a bit rushed. All in all, though, it was an amazing book that felt real and I loved it.
