The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

2.0

This book is a victim of its own fans. Going in I was being told how life changing and beautiful this book was, and I have to say after four or five chapters I gave up. Nothing about the main character or the world was anything new to me. All that's been done is you took a generic bard character from a D&D campaign and given them a rouge's tragic backstory.
I can get settled and follow along with a long story like American gods or the first Dune book, but this one didn't have a hook. The stuff I read was well writing but I didn't feel like I had anything to look forward too.
