I’m a bit conflicted on this book. For one, there were multiple storylines opened and only 2 closed “successfully”. I’m not sure what this books goal was nor if this is serving for a larger world in an upcoming book. Overall, too many issues and not enough points to praise upon.

My biggest gripe is the underdeveloped stories. These were what I figured as the storylines:
  • The Howse University journey
  • The CAD virus
  • The random death of what I think was a child molestor
  • The pig hunt
What was the point of mentioning the first story if we never got to go see what it was about? I’m still confused on how that was made the main point of the story. The CAD virus is not explained thoroughly and feels like it’s a thing that exists and we must accept it as it. Which, for this type of genre, would have worked but not enough was explained for its importance or origins.

The third point was mentioned at the beginning and brought up once. Not enough to consider this a spoiler at all. The pig hunt was probably the best plot line and the only that truly made sense.

All in all, this is one I would not recommend.
