I found this book by accident because of a suggestion for it popped on facebook of all places. And I am so happy that it did!
I love a story about a heroine in hiding and an protective hero and this story was all of that and had a perfect pace and was beautifully written.
Evelyn is on the run and ends up on a ranch in Montana. She meets Lucas who is the owner of the ranch. This ranch is called Resting Warrior Ranch. It was started for people who need help or a place to get away. Lucas senses that Evelyn is running from something and offers her a place to stay as well as helping her get a job.
Lucas starts to develop an urge to protect and help Evelyn. He never pushes her for her story but once they get closer he starts to develop deeper feelings for her and Evelyn does for him as well. When danger gets closer to home Lucas will do everything in his power to protect Evelyn.
This book had the perfect amount of romance and suspense. I loved the way Lucas treated Evelyn and never once pushed her for anything and left everything to her at her pace. I can't wait to read more from this series.
