I decided to quit while I was ahead with this book because it was just so frustrating. It felt a lot like all the other white fantasies I've read in the past and I just wanted something different. This definitely wasn't for me and I'm sure it has the potential to get better, but I'm not going to waste my time with frustrating characters, a whitewashed world (or at least, a systematically white world), bland characters, and mediocre writing.
