There's a good concept here, but too much of the book is contrived. I can think of a way it should have been structured that would have made it a better book overall. Things also happen much too fast here, such as Leah's relationship with Julian, which made some of the events lack overall impact. Really, the book's main problem was its execution. In a different writer's hands, it might have worked much better than it did.
