Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

This is definitely a YA book and with a heavy theme of mental illness, told beautifully by weaving in friendship, love and family.
However, that being said, I didn’t feel like the intended audience at this time. Kudos to John Green for tackling this topic! I know there is a movie coming about it and may be seeing a screening and hearing from the author in the weeks ahead.
UPDATE - The screening was amazing at the LA Times Festival of Books last weekend and it was followed by a panel including John Green. I came to understand and appreciate the book even more as a result! It will be released on May 2nd and is a wonderful adaptation of the book - a few differences but ones that enhance the story in the visual format of a film.
