The Enlightened by Cassandra Robbins
2.5
I'm both sighing in relief it's over and sad that it ended.
Their story started off in the right way. Childhood love like no other, two kids completely gone for each other all the way to their early adulthood.
That's when it all went sideways and the book started not making sense or being realistic. A lot of the shit that happened was unnecessary and just irrelevant. I got lost and got bored.
By the end of this second book, they both finally grew up and started thinking properly for themselves and their futures. It went back to being a good book.
I can't deny that the middle agonising scenes were heartwrenching (in a good way) sometimes, but that's the thing... SOMETIMES when theirpast came back and you'd see those two kids completely apart now it's perfect but most times it was so far off away from the plot that I forgot what book I was reading.
