We Can Be Heroes by Scott Fitzgerald Gray

4.0

When I started this book, I felt Gray had an interesting set of voices for his character, but I didn't think that it necessarily was the best written thing I have ever laid eyes on. It wasn't that it was bad, but that it wasn't exactly the quality I was hoping for. My opinion on it changed greatly the further I got along in the book, though. The writing took leaps in quality and became something I really quite enjoyed. I'd recommend this, though be willing to make it through a slightly rough first 5-12 chapters (the first maybe 5-10% of the novel). You'll be rewarded with a surprisingly involved story if you make it through the opening.
