Of course Sky Raiders didn’t blow me away. It’s not meant to dazzle teens that are absurdly old to read middle grade (such as myself). It was a good nostalgic blast from the past, nothing extraordinary.
I love the imagination, though. That is what hooked eleven-year-old me on this series. It was one of the foundational books that got me into science-fiction and fantasy, so it will always be near and dear to my heart.
