Beautifully drawn main character Tori is a complicated character. On the surface, she is just another depressed teenager, but the story adds layers and shades and sides of her that give the sense of a fully human character. Complex isn't a bad thing in the hand of Alice Oseman.
Graphic: Suicidal thoughts
Moderate: Eating disorder, Homophobia, Violence, and Alcohol
Like many teenagers, Tori's journey is a rough path. But there is hope in this story. There are bumps along the way, some are serious, some are less so. But Alice Oseman makes the reader feel like they are walking with Tori and in the end we are hoping she finds what she needs out of life.
