My seven year old son and I read this book in print about a year ago. This time, we downloaded the audio version from the library. We thoroughly enjoy Hiaasen's young adult books. The narrator for the audiobook does a nice job putting the right amount of sarcasm into some of the dialogue and this story was quite accessible to my son. He loved hearing about the tiny owls and it's nice to read about a kid standing up to bullies in a productive way. Definitely recommended reading for those that can live with zany characters and far-fetched plotlines (e.g., a kid putting alligators into port-o-potties to disrupt a construction project).
