Last Gender 2 by Rei Taki
emotional
hopeful
reflective
sad
- Plot- or character-driven? Character
- Diverse cast of characters? Yes
3.0
The second volume of Last Gender by Taki Rei has again a lot crammed into it with many new characters and vignettes of their lives. However, this installment comes off more cohesive. If there’s one theme to this volume it’s “no matter what people say about you, it doesn’t change who you are.”
See my blog for an in-depth review.
Moderate: Suicide, Outing, Sexual content, Grief, Homophobia, Suicidal thoughts, and Alcohol
Minor: Body shaming
There is also an instance of misgendering that is quickly apologized for.
Warnings from the publisher: contains references to suicide and depictions of bigotry and violence against LGBTQIA+ people
