Please read if SA is triggering for you: The absolute worst part of this book is that we are meant to completely dismiss the experience of the main "villain," Katerina, who holds that the MMC consistently r*ped her for the entirety of their years-long relationship. This is what her desire for vengeance hinges upon, and, to be frank, I completely understand her perspective and believe that what happened to her was entirely against her will. Just because the MMC thought that consent was established does NOT absolve him from guilt in this situation. I wish that her character was handled with FAR more care and nuance, and I feel that her treatment in the novel could be extremely triggering, especially since SA victims are so often not believed when they come forward. Ugh.
