Eagle & Crane by Suzanne Rindell

5.0

I loved this novel! This historical mystery follows two intertwined stories: In the first, two daredevil wingwalkers—one white, one Japanese-American—in Earl Shaw’s Flying Circus vie for the attention of Shaw’s vibrant stepdaughter, Ava, while in the second, an FBI agent three years later investigates the suspicious death of one of the two men. Rindell is an excellent writer, and paints a gorgeous, vivid portrait of pre-World War II-era Northern California, complete with a richly developed cast of characters and a riveting story.
