There were some twists and turns i did not see coming but overall this is your run of the mill romantasy. I didn’t really care for most of the characters for the first 40% but it was still weirdly easy to consume so made getting to the good bits ok. 

I will say the last 100-150 pages turned it around for me!

This is the first I’ve read where the sex scenes actually add to the lore and plot so .5+ for that.
