This book was recommended and brought for me by a friend as it is one of her favourites and although it wasn’t one of mine, this book still has some promise and I am interested in reading the sequel.
The plot was fairly basic and not too intriguing but I liked reading about all of the characters and complicated/almost politically forbidden relationships between them.
It was a quick read but as I said, it was interesting enough that I want to pick up the sequel. This book was lacking a bit of originality and it wasn’t anything too spectacular, hence the three stars but it was a fun little quick read that is probably a good start if you’re trying to get into YA fantasy.
