See You Yesterday by Rachel Lynn Solomon

I just love RLS’s writing! She has such a way with crafting beautiful stories that draw you in and keep you hooked. This was a fun read, and I loved the Groundhog Day vibes.

This was definitely a fun take on a well-used time loop trope, but even with this idea being used time and time again, it didn’t feel old. I liked that they played into knowing what was happening and referenced other movies with the same scenario, but it was still able to have its own unique twist to it.

Barrett Bloom was a dynamite leading lady! It was refreshing that she was a curvy gal and absolutely rocked it, and I could easily see myself being her friend and enjoying her sarcastic/witty comments. I definitely related to her tendency to cope with big emotions by using humor, and I’m glad to see that she was able to grow past that as a default as the story progressed. It was heartbreaking, yet empowering, to see how she was able to rise above what she’d gone through in high school and become the confident journalist she wanted to be.

Barrett and Miles were so quirky and sweet together! I absolutely loved watching their love bloom (no pun intended), and their opposites attract dynamic was lovely. I’m a sucker for an innocent, sweet, nerdy guy who falls head over heels for the girl first. Every time he blushed because of Barrett’s comments, my heart melted a little. And I also related to his struggle with big ears. I, too, was called Dumbo for most of my childhood
