I absolutely adore this duology. One of my favorites of the year. Like I mentioned in the first book, I love the magic in this world. It is tied to the caste system, with each group of people associated with different types of magic, and witches in each who can actually wield powerful magic. Fie is truly unparalleled though in this world, in classic MC fashion.
My one complaint, though, is how fast Fie’s relationship with Tavin changed at the turning point of this book. It was almost instantaneous and I didn’t quite believe it until it had lasted a little bit and she became more conflicted with her emotions. However, I don’t think it ruined the story for me at all and I would read it again.

If you’re looking for a fantasy duology with a unique magic system, fantastic characters, enemies to lovers, and made-family then this is one I highly recommend.

Margaret Owen has definitely become one of my instant read authors from this series.
