Thus Spoke Zarathustra
by Friedrich Nietzsche
intense, dense, and very fun.
my biggest takeaway: the will is our strongest trait as human beings. but the dark side to will lies in the past, where we say “i could have done it differently”. here we should redeem the past to say “i willed it this way”. our will is the only thing that keeps us alive among everything that kills our spirit. while camus reminds me to not live in the future, here neitzsche reminds me to not live in the past
also found it very interesting how biblical the language throughout the book was.
