Call me a hater all you want but this book is lucky I didn't use it as kindling!!!

First of all, this book is designed with one goal and that's to make the reader cry at the end. It's very clear that was the author's thesis. Well, that trick is not gonna work on me!!!

Second of all, 99% of Emma's struggles were of her own making!! And not in a "well, what was she wearing" way, but in a very tangible way. If your kids are 10 and 13 years old, why in the fuck are you still on a committee at their PLAY GROUP?? It's been at least 5 years since either kid would have attended?

And Emma is 100% at fault for forgetting a dumb anniversary that was HER IDEA in the first place. PLEASE PLEASE do not make me side with the man here, but #justicefordan. She made up this stupid ass anniversary and then forgot two years in a row because she was busy taking minutes for a committee meeting for a play group her children have not attended for half a decade.

And then, the piece de resistance. She finds out (as per the summary) that she will be reliving the day her husband dies over and over again and she decides to .... spend the entire fucking day with other people?? Bruh WHAT?!? She prioritizes her terrible authors, terrible boss, terrible friends - and her husband gets the short shrift, again!

Anyways in summary, I didn't cry, I didn't get emotional, I didn't find Emma relatable at all, as a busy mother myself. I found her useless. And the "twist" with Hattie is offensive. Bye!
