Trickster Makes This World: Mischief, Myth and Art by Lewis Hyde

challenging funny informative lighthearted reflective slow-paced

5.0

Trickster is a figure near and dear to my heart and Hyde's book is a masterful treatment of the subject, honoring storytellers, artists, and the necessary role both play in shaping our world.

It is a slow read and dense in the sheer amount of information on each page, but a highly accessible read. Hyde does an excellent job of sharing knowledge and providing necessary context throughout the book to allow for readers with a wide range of prior knowledge to understand his analyses.
