What If You & Me by Roni Loren

5.0

Andi Lockley's anxiety wants her to believe that she has to constantly watch her back. Ever since she barely escaped a murderous man back when she was younger, every relationship since has given her fear. As things start to get better as she settles into adulthood ―she's channeling everything into her career as an author and true crime podcaster, and her next book may be the breakthrough she needs. Except her neighbor's stomping won't stop keeping her up at night to finish it.

Hill Dawson, a former firefighter, can't sleep. After losing part of his leg in a fire gone wrong, he's now stuck in limbo with what he wants to do for the rest of his life. When someone breaks into Andi's place, Hill can't stop himself from rushing in to play the hero. Before he knows it, a bond forms between the unlikely pair. But what starts out as a neighborly harmless exchange, quickly turns into the chance for so much more. That is only if Andi can learn to put aside her fears and trust in herself and love again.

Roni Loren is quickly becoming an instant read author for me. This was my second book and I loved it. There is some definite spice which is always welcomed but the plots of her stories are always so relatable. I loved this one so much because I personally struggle with anxiety from things I have dealt with in my past. I can relate to Andi on so many levels and the fear aspect of letting the past try to not dictate the future.
