Foundations of the Metaphysics of Morals/What Is Enlightenment? by Immanuel Kant, Robert Paul Wolff, Lewis White Beck

3.0

Kant is an impressive if not convincing philosopher. This book lays out his ideas on morality clearly (or as clearly as Kant can manage). I have a much better understanding of Kantian ethical philosophy than before reading the Foundations. The addition of “What is Enlightenment” is a good move on the part of the editors/ translators; the essay is one of Kant’s most interesting, if most unconvincing.
