The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate by Peter Wohlleben

3.0

I really really want to like this book, and the first few chapters has promised so much of trees in their most poetic and intriguing life. Then it got repetitive, with basically the same underlying logic and scientific principles, but in new metaphors or analogies human. Basically a novel with a limited plot and few character developments. It would be so much nicer if the book were structured differently, like a life of tree from birth to death, with interaction to other living organisms and the forest as a whole.

Does it help your understanding of trees? Yes
Is it so exciting that you can't lift off your eyes? No
