I struggled to get into this more than other Chambers books I've read, and as a consequence didn't love it as much. But Becky Chambers on a slightly off day is better than most writers at their best: warm, humane, relatable characters engaging with a fully built world in ways that feel logical and emotionally true. There isn't loads of plot in this one, and the multiple POV characters made it harder to relate to one overall story, but I think that's the point of the context the stories happen in. Everyone is equally important.
