The Henna Artist

This book transports to Jaipur, India in the 1950s where you follow Lakshmi's life as a Henna artist and healer. I was fascinated by the rituals and customs of that time and place. The colors, smells and textures jump out of the page. Given we can't travel right now with Covid, this was the next best thing. The characters were all well developed and the story was compelling. I couldn't put it down. Looking forward to reading other books by this author.
