Faking with the Fae King by Krista Luna
5.0
I dove in for the fake marriage, but I stayed for the shadow daddy, the magical bakery shenanigans, the spicy knot action, and a town so cozy I’d sell my soul to move in tomorrow.
Faking with the Fae King is pure chaotic romantasy bliss. It blends magical mayhem with soft, sizzling romance and somehow manages to be both laugh-out-loud funny and emotionally satisfying. Hannah is the mayor trying to keep her magical town from imploding, and Severin is the morally gray (and grumpy) shadow fae king trying very hard not to fall in love with his fake fiancée, all so he can give his people a better life. Spoiler: he fails beautifully.
Severin calling her “good girl” repeatedly? Chef's kiss. The flying scenes? I was feral. And watching Hannah slowly break through Severin’s shadows with her warmth and relentless care? Utterly heart-melting.
I need a full map of Ferndale Falls immediately, the shop names are everything!!
The pizza place - Slice of Life
The jeweler - Bling it On
The florist - Oopsy Daisy
The bookshop - I touch my Shelf
The bakery - Cake My day
The dress shop - Haute and Bothered
Krista Luna nailed the balance of cozy and spicy, magic and emotion, redemption and ridiculous fae nonsense. If you like your rom-coms with magical mishaps, dirty-talking fae kings, and just enough heart to make you swoon between steam sessions, this one will ruin you in the best way. Sign me up for a one-way trip to Ferndale Falls. And maybe… a shadow daddy of my own.
Thank you to the author for this advance copy.
