“But a life without art, without wonder, without beautiful things - she would go mad.”

What an incredible book. An easy 5 stars and a new classic.
The book leaves breadcrumbs throughout the story and leaves you anxious to know how they happen or when they come into play in the best way. V E Schwab knows how to keep an audience engaged and eager for more. Her writing is stunning; just as beautiful as the works of art in Addie’s life and lends itself just as much to the artist motif.
I went into this book having no concept of plot and I am so glad I did. Addie’s journey and relationship to characters and places throughout the book was inspiring, heart-wrenching, emotional, and breathtaking. The book sparked a debate with others about what we would have done in Addie’s situation and whether or not we would have accepted.
I have no doubt that this will become a classic; a story studied and written about. I already cannot wait to revisit Addie’s story.
