This may be my favorite book so far. As an autistic woman, this book means the world to me. Stella and I are one in the same, and there’s nothing better than finding a character who’s just like you. Also I love steamy books, and this was beautifully steamy. I felt it was the perfect balance of smut and regular plot for me. I can’t explain how much I love this book. I just know I’m going to read it over and over and over again (like Stella, once I have an obsession I hyper-focus on it.) I’m not sure if neurotypical people will understand Stella, but if you’re autistic and deal with any of the same struggles that Stella deals with, I suggest you put this book at the top of your list. Even if you’re neurotypical I suggest you read this because it may give you just a bit of insight on how many of us view the world. I just can’t stress enough how wonderful it feels to see yourself in a character. My only complaint is the use of the term “aspergers” which we no longer use because it’s problematic. She also uses the term “high-functioning autism” in her author’s note which again is outdated. It bothered me, but I was able to look past it because it’s such a good book. It was also written in 2018 which is a little bit before the majority of us started to understand that these terms were problematic.
