Invincible Ironheart volume 2 continues with Riri Williams who is one of the most charming new superheroes to debut int the last couple of years. And reading the volume is very enjoyable for her character and how absurdly good she is.
The art handled by Stefano Caselli, Kate Niemczyk, Taki Soma, and Kiichi Mizushima is all good. Stefano has a knack for giving enough detail to properly expose the picture, and is great with human bodies and faces. The other's are special guest artists in the last issue of the collection and all their styles fit the stories they illustrate excellently.
The colorist Marte Gracia does a great job too with a more subdued color scheme but it really allows certain characteristics (like Mary Janes hair or Riri's armor) to pop.
The plot is Riri dealing with the Tony Stark AI, juggling the weight of being a new super young inexperienced hero that needs to deal with the politics of shield, and the Lateveria situation. Tony Stark AI plot point has yet to fully emerge and doesn't get much other than some dialogue, the weight of being a new hero is fun, shield politics is interesting especially because her age turns the whole thing on it's head, and the Lateveria situation leads to funny hijinks but is rather boring aside from what Riri does with it.
Despite a lackluster plot I love the last issue that deals with memories of Tony Stark and the character or Riri Williams. So despite my hangups I'd read an Iron Heart title for a hundred issues.
