This was honestly quite disappointing, especially given how good the first book was.
I’m not even sure how to explain why this felt worse. It felt really repetitive and samey throughout, the pacing meant I got bored for a good 40% of it and so many moments felt completely random and unnecessary. It’s like the author was bored too and wanted to throw in some curveballs but they just fell flat.
I don’t know if I’ll carry on with future works. Maybe I will just to see where it goes but it was a far cry from book one for me.
