Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators by Ronan Farrow
5.0
This book describes Ronan Farrow's investigation of the Harvey Weinstein allegations, and the various resistance and manipulations by Weinstein and NBC, his employer at the time, to suppress the story. Weinstein employed an Israeli private investigation organization to maintain surveillance on any journalists or women who coming forward to expose Weinstein's behavior. There were many, many people in providing women for Weinstein to sexual abuse, and many more involved in the cover-up. I have little respect for journalists who bend their beliefs to the current pressures imposed by the powerful and wealthy. With that said, the book does some flaws. Ronan Farrow is a young inexperienced journalist who has many doors opened for him that because of his connections, and a more seasoned journalist might have handled the situation differently. Also the book could use some editing as I feel like the story is very repetitive and could have been summarized.
