The Gender Game
by Bella Forrest
I think there was a lot of potential here. The problem with potential, though, is that it's been unfulfilled. The beginning chapters were very slow, and I had to trudge through them. It wasn't until Violet began spending more time with Viggo that I became truly intrigued. Unfortunately, that wasn't until the second half of the book. All the action happened in the last three chapters, which was also disappointing. Another bummer was that Violet only spent about 2 pages in the Green. Now, Forrest could be planning to incorporate that into the rest of the series (which I think is likely), but it would have added some substance to THIS story. Lee is exactly what I suspected him to be, so there wasn't much surprise or suspense where there should have been. All in all, it felt thin, but it was intriguing. Like I said, potential. Will I read the rest of the series? I'm not sure yet. Would I recommend this? It depends on the reading level of the person in question.
