Atonement by Ian McEwan

Wow. It's been a while since I read a really well-written book. I'm sort of awed, actually. My only criticism is that the beginning was really slow and Briony, the main character, came off as very whiny, though I suppose that was the point.

I thought the ending was fascinating and the idea that the writer has God-like is definitely a conversation starter.
