I've never read Ashley Poston before and didn't realize her books tend to have an element of magical realism in them, which is usually something I avoid. I also clearly didn't read the book summary well before starting. So I almost stopped reading when magical realism made an appearance. But I'm glad I stuck with it. This is one of my few 5 star reads this year.
The characters were interesting, flawed but obnoxious. There was no completely ridiculous 3rd act breakup that made me roll my eyes or want to scream. I really enjoyed this book. There were moments where I laughed and others where I teared up. I had to put the book down near the end because I wasn't ready to be done reading. I look forward to reading more from this author.
