Night Embrace
by Sherrilyn Kenyon
New Orleans continues to be the site of the Dark-Hunter series. Here we are also introduced to families of shape-shifters—wolves and bears. With all the gods, goddesses, dark-hunters, daimons, and shape-shifters, you have to wonder, just what in the heck IS in the water down there. At any rate, I didn't enjoy this one as much as the other two I have read but am still encouraged to go on with the series. The hardest thing for me to get past was the heroine's name—Sunshine. With hippy parents who named her brothers Storm and Raine, I suppose it is the logical choice but every time I read her name, I had this mental cringe. Perhaps it has something to do with my own name: had my mother had any more girls, they would have been Harmony and Lyric Lee!
