The Doctor's Wife
by Daniel Hurst
The Doctor's Wife is an extremely fast-paced popcorn thriller and works best when you know as little as possible about the plot.
The story is told in alternative timelines between Drew and his wife, Fern. I enjoyed this format as we understand how and why things unfolded as they did. While I found neither Fern nor Drew likable characters, I loved waiting for karma to come for them. The author did a great job of building suspense and tension. I devoured this book in almost one sitting.
I listened to the audiobook. Both narrators did a fantastic job and added a special touch in bringing this story to life.
With this being a thriller, I felt this was sometimes a bit predictable. However, I still enjoyed the reading journey, so I rounded my 3.5 stars to 4.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.
