Genuinely loved this book. An absolute delight to read. Oliver's happy ending was as euphoric for me as it was for him.
Several reviews I read prior to picking up Most Ardently criticized the clandestine nature of the plot. To those people, I say: is it such a crime for a queer historical fiction to have a fairytale ending?
The author dedicated the book at its start to his trans siblings. As one of those siblings, I'll speak for the group when I beg you to let us have a happy period romance involving a trans person. It's not hurting anyone.
Anyway, read this book. It's amazing.
