The Jungle Book
by Rudyard Kipling
Out of all of the stories in this book, Mowgli's is definitely the most memorable one. It is refreshingly earnest in comparison to the Disney movie, which is absurdly goofy in comparison. This book takes itself very seriously, like a proper children's book should. It's also considerably more violent and considering I'm reading Stalky & Co at the same time, it makes me even more weary of pre-pubescent little boys and their thirst for violence.
