I really enjoyed the book. I loved it. BUT….then at the very end it seems like the author kind of just really quickly through in a plot twist that made no sense. The entire book she thought and acted one way, like she was just a normal scientist and who had a normal life. There was no inner thoughts that told a different story. She was a just a sweet girl next door. She was accused by the prince of being an assassin but then entire time she explained how she fell into fairy by accident chasing the moths and mushrooms. There was nothing at all to indicate otherwise. Then at the very last bit of the book she is all of a sudden an assassin now and stabs the prince. It wouldn’t have seemed so out of place if there was any inkling at all through the book. Inner dialogue or something but the way it happened it seemed like an after thought. I wasn’t a fan of this ending. It seemed very rushed and like she might have had a different ending but her editors told her to change it to this. Everything else was great. This ending didn’t feel like it belonged.
