The High Mountain Court by A.K. Mulford

2.0

I truly believe that this book started off so strong. I was all the way there and invested, and I loved Remy. But then I got bored. So bored that I actually blanked out full sections of this book and had to go back and reread them.

I had zero connection with Remy. Or with Hale, so I don't know if it's entirely because of this that I didn't love this book or what. Again, I found them to be pretty hollow characters, and I was bored. Their relationship. Or what have you, was so bland. I didn't feel the chemistry or the sparks. It just wasn't. And then it was. And then it was fated mates.

So much of this book was spent traveling, and was just dialogue on top of dialogue with some sword and dagger training scenes thrown in for good measure.

Honestly, I had close to no interest in this book until the last quarter. Things really picked up. There was some plot introduced and some action. But it was all so, bing bang boom, over, that I felt a little let down by it all.

This was one of my biggest anticipated books on my TBR, so I'm pretty sad right now, I won't lie.
