Venom by Jennifer Estep

Did not finish book. Stopped at 8%.
I think I remember now why I paused this series all those years ago... there's a lot of blood and violence in the first couple chapters of this book, and a quick skim through the rest of it shows that there's a lot more to come. I know that the "assassin" in the series title should probably indicate that this would be a violent book, but this one just goes way beyond my preferences for blood and violence these days. The characters are fun, but not enough to keep my interest among all the blood.
